Danish producer and DJ Anders Trentemøller releases his first ever mix CD on May 15 in the shape of Habour Boat Trips 01: Copenhagen. Trentemøller has caused a massive buzz since his multi-award-winning debut album The Last Resort hit the shelves in 2006 (it was also named EQ Album Of The Year by our panel of DJs, producers and reviewers), releasing a load of top-notch 12”s on the likes of Poker Flat Recordings and dropping the massive compilation The Trentemøller Chronicles. So there’s an understandable wave of excitement around this mix album. Dropping on new label HFN Music, it’s being touted as “a very intimate and emotional mix of some of the most beautiful music from four decades”.
The idea behind the Harbour Boat Trips series is to present special mixes by outstanding artists, inspired by the imagery of harbours. Trentemøller’s mix includes neo folk, heart-wrenching vocal tracks and post-rock, plus the electronic sounds the producer is more known for. Tracks come courtesy of Emiliana Torrini, Liz Harris, Nic Endo, Suicide and Khan, not to mention other oddities, outtakes, Trentemøller’s own edits, and some tunes from Copenhagen.
