You can always trust Pete Heller to create something good, and his latest track, Sabotage, is no exception. Apparently, the track came about when he started experimenting with an old Roland 303 in the studio over a dub of a track he’d been working on. The results were so good, Pete took a few days off from studying for his masters degree in digital media and created a big old acid monster. And when John Digweed heard the finished track, he signed it to Bedrock straight away, then agreed with Pete Sabotage should be remixed by Tom Stephan and his London-based Iranian sidekick Kamisshake. “Pete’s created an old-skool acid house track that thumps right into 2009,” says Digweed. “I’ve been roadtesting this for months and it gets great reactions everywhere.” Mr Stephan’s just as excited: “My intention was to keep Pete's acid and old-skool vocals which I absolutely love, inject it with more drama and make it a bit more big room. Which is very much my sound – in your face and lots of energy. Definitely not subtle or minimal.”
Sabotage is out on Bedrock on March 23. Visit www.peteheller.com and www.bedrock.org.uk
