February 2 sees the release of the debut mix album from multi-monikered man of the moment Hervé in the shape of the two-disc Ghetto Bass. The 29-year-old producer is a man of many names – he’s one half of The Count and Sinden, he’s got a variety of aliases, including Action Man, Young Lovers, Dead Soul Brothers and Voodoo Chilli, and he has his own supergroup Machines Don’t Care. He’s also remixed everyone from Bloc Party and Chemical Brothers through to Mark Ronson, Roisin Murphy and New Young Pony Club. Now he’s captured his all-encompassing sound across 36 tracks – from the likes of SebastiAn, Rico Tubbs, Justice, Count of Monte Cristal, Mr Oizo, Chemical Brothers, and Herve And Kissy Sellout – over two CDs.
And the Hervé news doesn’t stop there – 2009 also sees The Count & Sinden’s debut album being released via Domino Records, the debut Hervé artist album will drop later in the year, and there’s also a second Machines Don’t Care album in the pipeline. Plus his label Cheap Thrills, home of the massive Fake Blood track Mars (also featured on Ghetto Bass, as an exclusive Hervé edit), has releases lined up from Jack Beats, Detboi, Rico Tubbs and Zomby.
Ghetto Bass is out on February 2 on Music Response Records. Visit www.myspace.com/hervespace and www.thecountandsinden.com
