July 1 sees the release of Fire It Up, the long-awaited debut mix album from Eddie Halliwell named after his own club brand. Eddie started DJing at the age of 15, and after a few years honing his ability he landed residencies at two of the biggest club nights in the UK, Goodgreef and Gatecrasher. Touring extensively around the world, he’s won massive props for his sets at Cream Amnesia and Judgement Sundays in Ibiza. Now he’s running his own events under the Fire It Up banner, and it’s doing rather well. So it’s a fitting title for his long-awaited debut comp, a 21-track excursion featuring the upfront tunes – spanning house to techno before building into driving trance – that have been firing Eddie’s DJ sets. Tracks come from the likes of Deadmau5, Sander van Doorn, Chris Liebing, trance’s rising star Greg Downey, Armin van Buuren and Ernesto vs Bastian, and nearly all of them are special ‘Ed-its’ – that’s a Halliwell remix to you and me – meaning this album really shows off what Eddie’s all about.

To coincide with the album, Eddie’s currently on the road. He started his Fire It Up World Tour at Goodgreef in Preston on April 12, before moving onto Canada and USA, but he’s back in the UK for some dates over the summer, including festival slots at Escape Into The Park in Swansea on June 14 and London’s South West Four on August 23.

Fire It Up is out on New State Music in July 1. Visit www.eddiehalliwell.com and www.fireitup.co.uk
