March 31 sees the release of the latest installment of Bpitch Control’s flagship mix series, Boogybytes, and this time it’s label boss Ellen Allien who takes to the decks. Following in the footsteps of Kiki, Sascha Funke and Modeselektor, Ellen mixes up 15 tracks into a hypnotic and intoxicating live set. Bouncy, sexy and off the beaten track, the mix features the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Richard Seeley, Gaiser, Sascha Funke, Melchior Productions and Little Dragon.
Described by Ellen as “emotional, noisy, trippy, weird, and sexual”, the album begins with a poem produce by AGF – who has produced Ellen’s new long player, SOOL, which due this summer – and finishes with a ballad from Peacefrog’s Little Dragon. It also features photography from the legendary ‘shaky heads’ series by Axl Jansen. All in all, it looks set to be an impressive follow-up to Ms Allien’s Fabric mix last year.
