March 10 sees Dave Seaman return to Renaissance after a two-year absence to deliver the latest installment of the label’s Master Series. And it’s fitting that it’s Renaissance’s most capped DJ taking to the decks for this mix, as it’s number 10 in the series. The result is a varied excursion through dance which kicks off from the left side of the field, blending two hot new acts, Apparat and Fairmont, before taking up the more traditional dance reigns by way of Dusty Kids’ Cowboys. From there things rise to a gallop incorporating a who’s who of the current scene, from Gui Boratto, Christian Fischer and Mark Knight to Skylark, Sasha and, of course, Underworld, who provide the closing crescendo with Beautiful Burnout. Disc two takes things in a clubbier direction with tracks from Martin Buttrich, Solomun, Popof, Oliver Huntemann, Dubfire and Umek.
“I’ve always viewed the Masters Series as a lasting snapshot of the very best the scene has to offer at that time,” says Dave, “Getting the balance right is never an easy task, so it’s always a long, hard process, but that only serves to make the end result more rewarding. As ever, my greatest hope is the fans and all who listen to it enjoy it too.”
The Masters Series Vol 10 is out on Renaissance on March 10 at all good stores and exclusively via iTunes for download. Visit www.djdaveseaman.com and www.renaissanceuk.com
