The last 12 months or so have seen a massive flurry of activity from the Rotters Golf Club studios. At the tailend of last year, we were treated to two new albums from label bosses Andrew Weatherall and Keith Tenniswood as Two Lone Swordsmen (Wrong Meeting parts one and two). There was also a Two Lone Swordsmen back catalogue compilation titled Emissions From The Archive Vol. 1) and The Bullet Catcher’s Apprentice, the debut solo EP from Andrew Weatherall. And since then, we've had Andrew's Sci-Fi-Lo-Fi mix album for Soma, and Keith Tenniswood's new Radioactive Man album Growl.
Now, we're pleased to announce, there's more on the way. Andrew's debut solo album, A Pox On The Pioneers, is due out soon, but first comes The Boardroom vs Andrew Weatherall, a rather tasty little eight-track extended EP. The Boardroom is a group of musicians and producers working around "the engineering nucleus" of Steve Boardman, who just so happens to be co-writing and engineering A Pox On The Pioneers. Rad Rice: AKA Radical Majik – A DJ and remixer for 20 years, his most recent outing was Dubrider (on Klang Elektronik) which appears on Sven Vath’s Cocoon – Sound of Ibiza Vol 8.
James Moss: AKA E.S.C. – Mr Moss has DJed, produced and run labels in the UK and international techno scene and represented Roland via live events.
Dave Congreve: AKA Conman – One time Two Lone Swordsman tour DJ and current resident at Nottingham’s Stealth (plus occasional EQ reviewer) and Dig Your Own Rave in London.
Sidney Le Sarge: AKA Le Sarge En Board – Dapper man about town and DJ for Lower Than I Can Remember.
And here we have three original tracks from the Boardroom members, as well as various remixes either by Weatherall or of his Two Lone Swordsmen tracks. EQ's had a listen, and this is well worth seeking out…
